01What it does

What Maine Lobstermen's Association Inc does

Mission

The maine lobstermen's association (mla) advocates for a sustainable lobster resource and the fishermen and communities that depend on it.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

  1. Advocacy to sustain the lobster resource and the communities that depend on it. The mla participated in multiple policy arenas on behalf of our members to ensure a sustainable lobster resource and fishery. Mla continued its advocacy in the 2nd session of the 131st maine legislature to secure funding to rebuild working waterfronts devastated by winter storms. The mla advocated to ensure regulatory proposals do not negatively impact our members, focusing on ensuring whale conservation measures and lobster conservation measures balance resiliency of the regulated species and the fishery. Mla continued advocacy against offshore wind to protect the ecosystem and fisheries.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

37% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund MAINE LOBSTERMEN'S ASSOCIATION INC.
