What Ldor Vdor Foundation Inc does
Mission
The LDor VDor Foundation supports research, development, education, and awareness projects that advance ancestral discovery for anyone with interest in Jewish family history and heritage. The LDVDF identifies, designs, operationalizes, and supports substantive projects that enable ancestral and descendant discovery, strengthen Jewish self-knowledge, identity, connection, and community. We are educating people of Jewish descent in their family history and heritage and how to research the same.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.
Program
Research and development to build JCat, the word's most comprehensive catalog of historic documents of Jewish lives. Work conducted by volunteers. Survey work conducted in Australia, Venezuela, Netherlands, US, and Canada. JCat now holds 10334 searchable entries for ancestral research. The Weekly News Nosh, a digest of Jewish history and heritage news items, is distributed via social media and email. Launched JDays, the first calendar of Jewish heritage, history, and family history events. Artificial Intelligence (AI) models trained to read historical handwritten documents in Russian, Polish, Yiddish, Hebrew, Arabic, and Ladino. Model improvements continue. Three Yiddish AI HTR models published for use by the public. Developed AI layout models for formatted records. Developed the Ask Rosenberg application... five steps in five minutes to ancestral discovery and showcased it at major Jewish community events. Developed the PastPort app - an AI-enabled advanced prototype for map-based ancestral discovery.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2021, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2021, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2022 to 2023, from $18k to $7k (−60%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
