01What it does

What Kin-Dom Community does

Mission

Providing safe worship venues and events, religious educational and worship camps for lgbtqia+ community members and others who have felt cast out by or uncomfortable in "traditional" churches by offering environments of spiritual inclusion and young adult leadership training.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Camp - kindom camp is a weeklong, residential summer camp for special needs teenagers. Last year we had 55 campers enrolled in our program. At our camp we offer a number of traditional summer camp activities as well as providing specialized care to these young people, many of whom have mental health concerns. Camp is a place where they can find a safe place to connect, celebrate who they are, engage resources and support groups, and deepen their relationship with the community.

  2. Kin-Dom Community - kindom community provides a number of free resources to families, faith communities, and community organizations. We also collaborate with other community non-profits to host events throughout the year. Our staff and volunteers also take speaking and teaching engagements for the purposes of community education and awareness.

    $29,416 spent

  3. Collective gatherings - collective gatherings are how kindom community maintains our relational community in between camp sessions. These gatherings draw former campers and their families together for support, conversation, and friendship building. These events are also how prospective campers can get to know our organization and get a taste of what camp looks like.

Each line starts at 100 in 2024, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2024, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of KIN-DOM COMMUNITY’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of KIN-DOM COMMUNITY's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $12k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
