What Joint Spouses Conference does
Mission
Provide a forum for spouses of active duty, reserve, and retired military members of all services to uplift, motivate, educate, and strengthen them in their challenging roles as spouses, parents, professionals, and community leaders.
As stated on its FY2020 Form 990-EZ.
Program
Prepared for a two day conference with numerous workshops focusing on hawaiian culture and history, health and wellness, communication and parenting skills, and entertaining tips. Also to be made available at the conference was a plethora of information and resources for military and civilian communities, including health care, family support, recreation activitites, and volunteer opportunities. The conference was to provide a unique opportunity to network and provide support to spouses of all ranks and services. Unfortunately, covid-19 caused the cancellation of the conference.
The first program described on its most recent Form 990-EZ.
The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended.
Balance sheet
Total assets at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2018 to 2019, from $40k to $54k (+34%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 3 of the last 4 reported years ran a deficit.
Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2022: the base held at 1 funder, grant income fell $2k → $0.
