01What it does

What Jewish Heritage Festival Inc does

Mission

To produce a bi-annual cultural festival which is free and open to the public. 2025 is an off year, the next festival will be held in 2026.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. The Festival featured continuous nationally acclaimed entertainment. Over 1000 attendees enjoyed Kosher, Deli-style, and Mediterranean food. We have arts, crafts, packaged foods, and Judaica vendors, Jewish Organization booths, speakers and exhibits, including a Holocaust Memorial and Jewish Hall of Fame. Our Jewish Hall of Fame is a multidimensional display that includes an Israel exhibition, as well as a Shtetl exhibit, Torahs, the history of Jewish life in Volusia County, and much more. Children's entertainment was available throughout the day, including a Matzoh making interactive demonstration, inflatables, face painting, a balloon artist, a petting zoo and our signature camel rides. You may even run into Moses and other biblical characters! The Festival expresses the heart and soul of Jewish Florida. For a single day, it intertwines the sounds, sights, and spirit of Jewish culture and weaves together every facet of the Jewish Community, young and old, singles and families, regardless of their religious and cultural background. Like other cultural festivals, we share our heritage with others.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2020: the base held at 1 funder, grant income held at $5k.

1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 99% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of JEWISH HERITAGE FESTIVAL INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

JEWISH HERITAGE FESTIVAL INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 99% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

99% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund JEWISH HERITAGE FESTIVAL INC.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 100% · 2018 100% · 2019 100% · 2020 100% — broadly stable.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

99% of JEWISH HERITAGE FESTIVAL INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $250 that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from Florida funders.

FL

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $34k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
