01What it does

What Indianapolis City Ballet Inc does

Mission

To enrich the cultural diversity of our city while providing opportunities for individuals from all communities to experience the beauty and artistry of world-class ballet.

As stated on its FY2017 Form 990.

Program

Indianapolis city ballet completed its ninth year of programming in 2017. The icb's core program from 2016, the annual gala performance, was not repeated in 2017, however, various final expenses related to the 2016 performance were paid in 2017. Conducted in conjunction with a master class program and an education program, the annual evening with the stars performances and master classes have historically been the base of a digital media effort to expand the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the artform of ballet through free online and public television broadcast. A new pbs special called designers of the dance based on the evening with the stars was released in 2017 and has been picked up by more than 170 stations nationally.

The first program described on its most recent Form 990, which lists programs largest first by expense.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of INDIANAPOLIS CITY BALLET INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of INDIANAPOLIS CITY BALLET INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $5k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
