What Ifpda Foundation Inc does

Mission

The IFPDA Foundation makes grants principally directed towards the organization, sponsorship and promotion of public programs and public projects on the subject of the art of printmaking and the preservation and appreciation and collection of fine art prints. It works in tandem with the International Fine Print Dealers Association, a non-profit organization of the leading art dealers, galleries, and publishers in the field of fine prints who are committed to the highest standards of quality, ethics and connoisseurship and to promoting a greater appreciation of fine prints among collectors and the public. In doing so it provides a wider and more effective degree of public education in the field of fine art prints. Accordingly, the foundation provides the funding for exhibitions , scholarly publications and catalogues, lectures and symposia, and curatorial internships in museums relating to prints and printmaking from its origins to its contemporary practice.

As stated on its FY2022 Form 990.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base narrowed from 2 funders to 1 funder, grant income fell $15k → $5k.

1 of 4 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 3% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Left out of every figure on this page: $15k from one payer (the payer shares this organization's board, largest International Fine Print Dealers Association Inc). These are real filings, and they are not money IFPDA FOUNDATION INC raised.

From the IRS filings of IFPDA FOUNDATION INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

IFPDA FOUNDATION INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 49% of grant income and the top three 99%; half comes from just 2 funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $1k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
