01What it does

What Housing4humanity does

Mission

The specific purpose of this corporation is to act as a housing provider to support the well-being, empowerment, and self-determination of homeless and housing-insecure residents with dignity and compassion through the provision of affordable housing and related basic essentials and services and to educate regarding the need for and to provide for sustainable low-income housing solutions

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

On its FY2024 return the organization reported a significant change in how it conducts a program.

The organization has shifted its primary focus from providing hiv/aids healthcare, prevention, and education services to offering affordable housing opportunities for low-income individuals and families.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 3).

  1. Renovated 13 properties nationwide, converting them into affordable housing via adaptive reuse, a much faster, much less expensive way of getting people off the streets. The adaptive reuse model proves that it helps low-income people in need without lengthy delays and by taking advantage of already existing property inventory rather than waiting on new construction, the majority of which is far from affordable.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of HOUSING4HUMANITY’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of HOUSING4HUMANITY's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $40k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
