01What it does

What Hosanna Community House Inc does

Mission

The mission of hosanna community house, doing business as hosanna school museum, is to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of harford county, maryland through the lens of the african american experience within national contexts.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

  1. The hosanna school museum significantly expanded its african american heritage preservation and public history initiatives in harford county. The museum now offers digital and immersive educational initiatives, including the "harford freedmen's education project," which documents schools established for formerly enslaved african americans during reconstruction, the "step back in time" 360-degree interactive video experience, the online exhibition trials and triumphs, and an interactive story map highlighting african american sites of memory across harford county. These initiatives are accessible worldwide. Hosanna also expanded public programming through its new three-day "freedom weekend" juneteenth commemoration, featuring a legacy empowerment workshop, the upper bay juneteenth festival, and a gospel celebration. Additionally, the museum launched an underground railroad bus tour series, based on extensive historical research that uncovered new sites. The inaugural tour sold out quickly and generated an extensive waiting list for future tours, demonstrating strong public interest in local african american history and heritage tourism.

83% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund HOSANNA COMMUNITY HOUSE INC.
