What Hingham Cares Inc does
Mission
The mission of Hingham CARES is to reduce substance use among youth in our community. We do this through programming in the schools, education through social media and email blasts, speakers for parents, a podcast, on-demand videos and various forms of collaboration among various sectors.

Program
We offered programs for parents and caregivers to help them raise resilient children who are capable of making healthy choices around drugs and alcohol by teaching refusal skills and communication skills; we brought speakers into both the middle school and the high school; we created podcast episodes; and we created a video with high school seniors about the consequences of underage drinking that is shown to parents and students at the quarterly Athletic Orientation Nights at the high school; we participated in an online forum; we created and distributed cards for parents and teens to sign before prom; we held youth events for middle schoolers; we created a Let's CHAT! program for community members to prompt important conversations; and we shared information on the risks associated with underage use of drugs and alcohol on our social media pages and on our website and through email distributions.
