Mission
The Helene Marks Early Start Foundation seeks to improve the quality of early childhood education and to broaden access for children, infants to age three, who need it most. Focusing our efforts in New York City, we support programs and initiatives aimed at providing children with a healthy learning environment that will enable them to grow and succeed emotionally and academically. Please note, this organization ceased to exist/terminated in 2024.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.
Program
In 2024, the organization had minimal activity level and expenses due to the reduction in active Board members. The Board decided to terminate the organization and move the proceeds to other charities in 2024 once all expenses are paid.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2023 to 2024, from $8k to $0 (−100%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 6 of the last 8 reported years ran a deficit.
