01What it does

What Hawaii Association of Nurse Anesthesiology does

Mission

The purpose of the association is: a) to advocate and promote the practice of nurse anesthesia. B) to promote continual quality anesthesia care. C) to promote the interests of hana members and cooperate with the national association, the american association of nurse anesthesiology (aana). D) to facilitate cooperation between certified registered nurse anesthetists (crnas), the nursing profession, anesthesiologists, other members of the medical profession, hospitals and agencies representing a community of interest in nurse anesthesia.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Hana conducted an in-person continuing medical education (cme) conference on august 17, 2025. It offered hana members and crnas educational opportunities that promote the continual quality of anesthesia care and update of healthcare rules and regulations. This was measured by the number of attendants and feedback through official evaluation form. The cme conference was in compliance with national recertification requirements of 100 hours every four years and passing of the recertification examination.

  2. Hana partnered with aana to provide members the opportunity to attend aana conferences in the mainland held throughout the year. The two national meetings were midyear assembly from april 24-29, 2025, and annual congress from august 9-13,2025. These meetings provided cme lectures and classes for crnas, social networking and marketing opportunities, and meeting with local legislators.

  3. Hana president and several board members met with hawaii legislators and staff in washington during the midyear assembly to discuss and promote the important role of crna in both hawaii and national health care industry. The long-term goal of program service includes providing crna advocacy work in hawaii and professional development opportunities for nurses and aprn/crna, promoting diversity, equity and inclusion of crna practices in hawaii.

The 3 programs described on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
