Programs
Science Theater Rocks and Minerals Program delivered to Elko, NV, area schools. Science Theater combines hands-on theater techniques with guided-inquiry to enhance students' comprehension of earth science. Using all their senses in the learning process, students dramatized science concepts in scenes with their peers, quickly connecting these concepts to their everyday world. Because students have a memorable experience acting-out these scenes, they can learn and retain the science content associated with these scenes. Get in the Act adds the Arts to S.T.E.M. learning - transforming S.T.E.M. to S.T.E.A.M. - with our hands-on teaching framework serving as a pathway to science for students. We strengthen students' comprehension of Next Generation Science Standards with age-appropriate programming that is directly tied to students' classroom curriculum. Delivered to elementary schools in Elko, Battle Mountain, Carlin and Spring Creek, Nevada. 800 students served. 1500 total student interactions. 50 classroom teachers participated.
