Program
The Friends of Newport Theatre Arts Center have continuously produced live theatrical performances in our present location for over thirty years. We have been honored by the local media with awards for Best Production, Best Actor, Best Actress and Outstanding Theater Personnel many times. We have a contract with the City of Newport Beach for the non-exclusive right to use the City owned property for play productions and are the only live theater group so designated by the City. We were given a special award by the City for our outstanding service to the City and the community acting as the de facto theater for the City. We are financially secure and are well supported by donations and ticket sales including nearly 800 season ticket holders which represents approximately 50 % of our theater capacity for each production. We present six productions each season consisting of a mix of dramas, comedies, mysteries and musicals. The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2019 to 2020, from $509k to $678k (+33%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
4% of FRIENDS OF NEWPORT THEATRE ARTS CENTER’s revenue is contributions — more earned-revenue than three-quarters of its peers (64% for the typical peer).
