To promote catholic higher education in ireland which is faithful to the teaching of the catholic church and which stresses the liberal arts in its curriculum

Program
Newman college ireland completed its third year at the drummond hotel in ballykelly, northern ireland. We had 16 students enrolled for a liberal arts program. The students were all in one wing of the hotel and had their own bedrooms. The hotel also set aside space for a library, study room, classroom and dining facilities. We had a full complement of faculty covering theology, philosophy, natural science, history, literature, latin and music. All the professors have doctorates in the subjects they teach. The college continues to have the support of the local bishop of derry and the primate of all ireland. The students all earned 32 or more credits for the year. The hotel has a chapel where mass is celebrated daily and most of the students were able to take advantage of this.
