What Fostering Acadia does
Mission
To produce better outcomes for youth aging out of the foster care system by providing an apartment-style program to assist youth with daily living skills, employment, and educational support.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
Fostering Acadia's mission is to foster hope, change, and futures of youth seeking an independent living arrangement. Fostering Acadia is an independent living arrangement serving youth ages 17-21. It is an apartment-style program that assists youth with daily living skills, employment, and education support. Using case management logs, monthly and quarterly reports, and Individual Service Plans (ISP's), Fostering Acadia implements service goals and objectives for each youth. Fostering Acadia has developed its own standard of completion which measures the most important factors in determining success in adulthood. This includes employment, education, transportation, finances, and permanency. During the tax year, Fostering Acadia served 108 youth, over an average stay of 311 days. During this year, 89$ of youth secured employment, 84% of youth stayed within their established budgets, and 14 youth graduated from high school. During this time, 92% of the enrolled youth increased their independent living skills. Progress in these areas was established in comparison to their ISP, Casey Life Skills Assessments, self-assessment, and FAPT goals.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2019, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2019, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2020 to 2021, from $628k to $1.5M (+131%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2019 100% · 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 99% · 2023 98% · 2024 101% · 2025 99%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
100% of Fostering Acadia’s revenue is contributions — more reliant on donations than three-quarters of its peers (81% for the typical peer).
