As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Dorris Lions Food & Nutrition Program: Nutritional meals are prepared by volunteers at the Lion's community center facility kitchen for 35 elderly and shut-ins each week. Three meals per person a week are then delivered to the home. This is the "Meals on Wheels" portion of the program. The distribution of food commodities is another portion. In conjunction with state commodity programs the Lions volunteer to distribute food twice a month to an estimated 150 low-income community members.

  2. Butte Valley Community Center and Park: The center is operated and maintained by the Dorris Lions Club. The buildings were built by the club for community use. Public meetings, fund raising events, youth rodeo, senior meal and continued education are examples of the center use. The preparation of and distribution of the Lion's Food and Nutrition Program is from this location. Over 10,000 people use the facility each year.

  3. Local and State Charitable Organization Support: The Dorris Lions Club hosts and helps other local area organizations to have fund raising events at their facility. With the support of the Lions volunteers and facility, smaller organizations are able to raise funds for their needs. Butte Valley Ambulance Service, Dorris Fire Department, Butte Valley 4-H/FFA and Dorris Flag Project are organizations that have been supported locally by the Dorris Lions this past year. In addition, Oregon State Lions Sight and Hearing and regional Veterans' Program have also benefited from the Dorris Lions contributions. Eye and hearing exams, fund raising dinners and charity events are held at the Lions community center.
