What Ctcu Foundation does
Mission
Primary Exempt Purpose:The CTCU Foundation was established in 2016 to serve as "a community cornerstone" within the communities of our field of membership. In a continuous demonstration of the credit union philosophy "people helping people," the foundation is committed to improving the quality of life in the these communities by investing in the citizens of today and tomorrow. The main areas of focus for accomplishing this mission include: financial literacy & general education, community development & empowerment, community charities and non-profit organizations, and other charitable contributions.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.
Program
The foundation will provide resources to charitable, educational and civic outreach efforts that parallel our mission of financial literacy, education and directly support organizations that provide resources to the less fortunate in the communities we serve.
The program described on its FY2023 Form 990-EZ.
The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2019 to 2020, from $811 to $22k (+2581%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
100% of CTCU FOUNDATION’s revenue is contributions — more reliant on donations than three-quarters of its peers (87% for the typical peer).
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 4 of the last 8 reported years ran a deficit.
