What Community Closet Inc does
Mission
Operate a thrift store to raise funds for local charities
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Program
Raise funds through operating a thrift store to donate to local charities in park county montana. Since inception, the organization has donated over 1,000,000 to various nonprofit organizations. A partial list of these nonprofits include friends of the community, the shane lalanicenter for performing arts, stafford animal shelter, links for learning, community school collaborative, big brothers/big sisters, human resources development council, park county community foundation, the livingston food pantry, etc. The funds raised by the thrift shop are an important part of the total funding received by many of these nonprofits. The community closet has an ability to quickly fund programs with specific needs. Two other important functions are providing clothing and household goods at reduced rates to local households, as well as keeping hundreds of tons of trash from landfills through re-use and recycling. The organization operates two locations in downtown livingston. In addition to the main thrift center a second location curates higher-end goods in a more typical retail store atmosphere. The organization was able to give out 140,000 in grants to community nonprofits in 2024.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2020, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2020, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2022 to 2023, from $641k to $988k (+54%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
5% of COMMUNITY CLOSET INC’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (16% for the typical peer).

The officers, directors, trustees and key employees listed on each return. Joined and no longer listed compare each filing with the year before, matching people by surname and first initial; a year after a gap, or a roster under three people, has no comparison.
