01What it does

What Civil Justice Association of California does

Mission

Cjac works in the state legislature and the courts to reduce the unwarranted and excessive litigation that increases business and government expenses, discourages innovation, and drives up the cost of goods and services for all californians.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. Overall program services fall into four major areas: appellate, legislative, research, and communication. Activities include legal research and amicus brief submission related to liability and civil procedures issues; analysis and development of legislative proposals in order to inform association members, the public, and policy makers on the effect of proposed legislation on the goal of improving the civil justice system; research on the economic and judicial system impact of statutes and case decisions; informing the public on the importance of a fair civil justice system.

Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
