Mission

Programs

  1. The mini-grant program - to provide teachers, coaches, and members of the community who are aligned with our mission with the much-needed funds to pursue projects that may be beyond their current budget. These grants range in amount and purpose - from funding for student-athlete transportation to financial support for extracurricular groups such as knitting clubs, international travel clubs and lgbtq+ clubs. The money has been used by recipients to maximize their impact and, in accordance with cfm's mission, to provide students with more opportunities, regardless of socioeconomic barriers.

  2. Mvp scholarship program - chosen based on academic and extracurricular achievement and for demonstrating a strong commitment to community service, as well as acceptance into college. Students must reflect a high level of character and a strong determination to succeed. This scholarship is one of the hallmarks of the foundation's mission to increase opportunities for under-resourced students.awarded in the month of june, selected mvps will receive a laptop computer and software package to help prepare for college.

  3. Football fundamentals camp - every year, the cfm foundation holds a one-day football fundamentals camp for student-athletes. We often bring in nfl players, in addition to coaches from around the state, to help teach these athletes the proper principles, mechanics, and ethics of high-level competitive football.this one-day, no-contact camp stresses fundamentals, form, and technique with the primary objective of focusing on quality instruction for each player in a fun atmosphere. Our volunteer coaches strive to teach the skills needed to make better football players and to stimulate general interest in the game of football, while promoting the concept of teamwork. They also stress the importance of education, hard work, and character development, as these lead to success both on and off the field. We believe that football skills can be a mechanism for illustrating the importance of individual work ethic and teamwork. We want to emphasize the importance of self-confidence, trust, discipline, a positive self-image and a good work ethic. We take advantage of every minute spent with the players during this intense and upbeat day to bring this message home.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income rose $30k → $31k.

2 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of CFM FOUNDATION INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

CFM FOUNDATION INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 94% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund CFM FOUNDATION INC.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 100% · 2018 100% · 2019 100% · 2021 100% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of CFM FOUNDATION INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $91k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
