What Center for Art and Thought does
Mission
Engage in educational programs in, and in connection with the operation of a research center for art and scholarship.
As stated on its FY2020 Form 990-EZ.
Program
In 2020, our major accomplishment was to host a virtual residency forthe poet-scholar Jason Magabo Perez. We worked on the theme, timeline, technical design, and publicity strategy for the publication of his writings, as an outcome of his residency, on our website as a project titled Savage Lovebird. We also helped to publicize and archive recordings of a Filipino American authors reading organized by Perez as part of his pop-up Digital Sala series of online poetry and fiction events. We continued to hire and work with an IT consultant to outline steps to upgrade the website/platform.
The first program described on its most recent Form 990-EZ.
The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended.
Balance sheet
Total assets at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2019 to 2020, from $13k to $6k (−55%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 2 of the last 4 reported years ran a deficit.
Who funds it, year by year
