What Brigham Young Center Foundation does
Mission
The purposes of the foundation are to create an online edition of the brigham young (the second president (1845-1877) of the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints) papers and to facilitate scholarly work exploring his life and his world. The foundation both engages in and seeks to promote scholarship that advances these two goals. The ethos of the foundation is one of collaboration and teamwork. While authors will often have their individual work products, many publications associated with the foundation will be collaborative efforts. Moreover, it is expected that those associated with the foundation share a commitment to the broad goals of the foundation, including gathering the financial, intellectual and historical resources necessary to support this work.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.
Programs
Transcription work: continuing transcribing efforts center on the manuscript history of the church that starts with brigham young's administration in 1847. These records have either not been previously transcribed or the transcription that is available is of questionable credibility.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2020, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2020, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2020 to 2021, from $13k to $131k (+886%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
100% of BRIGHAM YOUNG CENTER FOUNDATION’s revenue is contributions — more reliant on donations than three-quarters of its peers (64% for the typical peer).
