01What it does

What Bluebonnet Data Inc does

Mission

Recruits, trains, and organizes people with skills in coding and data science to volunteer on data anlsyst teams to assist Democratic campaigns.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. We ran training sessions for the Bluebonnet Fellows in the forms of onboarding sessions for new fellows and ad hoc training sessions throughout the fellowship which typically lasts 3-4 months. We established a mentor program for former fellows to be mentors/help resources to new fellows. The volunteers are young and diverse. Our fellowship majority is BIPOC and about 30 of our 2023 fellows identify as LGBTQ. Nearly 60 of fellows join as college students and around 40 are working professionals or grad students.

The program described on its FY2024 Form 990.

From the IRS filings of Bluebonnet Data Inc’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

Bluebonnet Data Inc leans on a few funders — its largest provides 69% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

90% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Bluebonnet Data Inc.
