What Biodiversa Foundation does
Mission
The conservation of natural and cultural heritage accomplished in two components: 1 Astrolab expo in New York City showcasing wildlife art and 2 beehive project providing bees and associated equipment to the rural community residing within the El Silencio Wildlife Reserve.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.
Program
On May 3 2024 we partnered with Astrolab Contemporary to launch the Biodiversa Foundation through an art exhibition in Tribeca NYC. The show featured 22 female artists who created paintings and sculptures inspired by sound recordings from our nature reserve El Silencio. The objective of the event was to promote the Biodiversa Foundation on the East Coast of the U.S. and to foster dialogue around conservation through the lense of art. As a result of this event we expanded our network of contacts and supports including the New York Botanical Garden with whom we are currently developing a partnership to help expand the Woods of Memory project. Transfer of beekeeping equipment including hives smokers protective suits and educational materials. This grant was made to further the organizations exempt purpose of advancing science education and charitable work by supporting a local community and the surrounding ecosystem with a designated wildlife reserve.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2021, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2021, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2023 to 2024, from $26k to $60k (+129%).

Who funds it, year by year
Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.
1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of Biodiversa Foundation’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of Biodiversa Foundation's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $50k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
