What Bigfish Learning Community does
Mission
Offering teens and families in the seacoast area a different approach to living and learning without conventional school. This is accomplished through the use of mentors, tutorials and relevant classes.
As stated on its FY2020 Form 990-EZ.
Program
Bigfish has no academic demands that it places on young people, instead working with them and their parents to pursue the education that they agree upon. During fiscal 2019 the organizaton assisted with 26 individual contracts.
The first program described on its most recent Form 990-EZ.
The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2019, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2019, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2019 to 2020, from $10k to $10k (−8%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 2 of the last 2 reported years ran a deficit.
