01What it does

What 703 Warriors does

Mission

To provide underserved youth with free access to holistic development programs that combine competitive soccer training with essential life skills education. The organization aims to break down systemic barriers by fostering leadership, resilience, and teamwork among children, empowering them to succeed both on and off the field while building stronger, more inclusive communities. Through our four core programs, we create opportunities for personal growth, mentorship, and community engagement, all at no cost to participants.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. 703 Warriors served more than 350 underserved youth ages 6-12 across arlington and surrounding areas through free competitive soccer, youth development, fitness, and mentorship programming. Over 90% of participants qualify for free and reduced-price meals (farm).

  2. The organization successfully built and operated a free boys travel soccer program, fielding 4 teams that trained three days per week for ten months and competed against established pay-to-play clubs across the region, including two teams earning first-place finishes at a maryland tournament.

    $0 spent
  3. Alongside competitive success, 703 Warriors delivered six large-scale youth development days in partnership with organizations such as girls on the run and the travis manion foundation. The program mobilized 3,000+ volunteer hours and operated without paid coaching staff or premium facilities, demonstrating that high-quality outcomes are possible through community partnership, disciplined execution, and a low-overhead model designed for sustainability and equity.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.

2 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 90% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of 703 WARRIORS’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

703 WARRIORS leans on a few funders — its largest provides 49% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

90% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund 703 WARRIORS.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

90% of 703 WARRIORS's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $3k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from funders outside Virginia, across 1 state.

WI

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $22k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
