Mission

The mission of the rough riders is to commemorate the life and history of one of america's greatest presidents, mr. Theodore roosevelt. Mr. Roosevelt (october 27, 1858 - january 6, 1919) was an american statesman, author, naturalist, soldier, explorer, and historian who served as the 26th president of the united states. After the war with spain broke out in 1898, he helped form the famous rough riders, a combination of wealthy easterners and western cowboys. He gained national fame for his courage during the war in cuba. Our focus is on mr. Roosevelt and his exploits with the rough riders, both in tampa during the encampment and on the hillside of cuba during the 1898 spanish-american war. The rough riders wear a uniform based on historical significance, depictions and photographs of the original soldiers, with a hat, blue shirt, khaki trousers and a signature polka-dot scarf, originally worn by mr. Roosevelt and purchased at a local clothier in tampa. Our present mission is to promote
